I always get excited about the clocks going forward - no more dark evenings, the start of warm weather... For the past six months I've been finishing work and travelling home in the darkness, which I really dislike. However, the clocks going forward will forever hold another meaning to me now.
At this time exactly a year ago, I was in a dark place to say the least. Amongst all of the taxing second-year university work and the pressure that I was under to complete my assignments, I'd been faced with another, more long-term choice to make - to continue with my life in the way that it had been to save hurting someone else, or to make myself happy and give myself a new lease of hope.
Initially, I despised myself for even considering putting myself first. I couldn't bear the thought of hurting someone after all that we'd been through together. There was one huge problem, unfortunately - as much as I cared about them, I just couldn't reciprocate the feelings that they had for me any more. I tried my best to bury the thoughts that I was having but eventually, they burst from my chest and my world came crashing down onto me. They wanted to know why I was being so distant and the words were almost forced from my mouth. I was dreading the reaction that I was going to get and boy, oh boy did I get it...
The next few days were something of a nightmare. I held a dinner party at my house with a few friends the day after our initial talk and whilst they laughed and joked away, I suppressed my emotions and tried to join in. It was tough, pretending to be happy when I was far from it; however, I think I just managed to pull it off. Hey, I'd been doing it for the past few months so why should it have been any different then?
Then came the day of the clock changing. I'd had a long, tiring day at work and to make matters worse, I managed to screw up my day through a lack of concentration. As I left with my eyes to the floor and my heart dragging along behind them, a friend of mine noticed my sadness. They tried to get it out of me but I refused to talk. I got home and locked myself away in my bedroom, far from the troubling day that I'd had. I just wanted to shrink up into a small pile of dust and prayed that nobody would notice.
Then, a ray of sunshine shone into the blackness. "I've finished work... I'll be with you in about 15 minutes!" It was my friend that noticed my sorrow earlier on that day. I smiled to myself in the knowledge that someone was on my side throughout my troublesome time.
They arrived in almost no time at all - yet somehow, an hour had passed in between.
"What's the time?" I asked, fumbling in my pocket for my phone. I pulled it out and gasped.
"2am?! I swear it was 12.45am only a moment ago! Oh, wait... of course! The clocks went forward, haha!"
After a brief chuckle about the time change, we talked. We talked some more. We started to laugh and joke a little. Eventually we got on to the topic that I'd been dreading talking about. I froze momentarily before I gently let the thoughts escape from my lips. After listening intently to me for a few minutes as I spoke, my friend said one thing to me that struck a chord deep in my heart:
"You should never base a relationship on how long you've been together. If things aren't right, for any reason, you have to be fair on not only your partner, but yourself. Leading someone into false hope isn't the way to go."
It was as if a door had been unlocked before me. False hope... After months of turmoil, I had finally made my decision. I had the key to the door - now, I just had to open it...
I stayed with my friend all night, discussing my feelings and working things out. Before we knew it, the sun rose and it was already 7am. We said our farewells, rubbing our bleary eyes, then went home. I fell asleep as soon as I got into my bed and was completely zoned out for the rest of the day, having to wake up just three hours later for work.
This year, I'm spending my day a little differently and thankfully, without a worry in my heart. I will be forever thankful for that person who dug me from the dirt when I thought I could dig no lower. The decision that I made that night was, quite frankly, one of the best that I've made in my life so far.
A year on, I'm as happy as can be. I can't wait to see what the next year holds! :) x

Colour B4 - Top notch!
It goes without saying that I am a hair dye junkie.
My hair colour has always been more of an fashion statement to me than anything else. Like the seasons, it changes several times over the course of one year. Over the past four years, I've been chocolate brown, bleach blonde, fiery red, not mentioning all of the colours in between. Of course, along with these tints have come not only raving successes but horrific failures.
Around this time last year, my hair was as bright as a light bulb. People had mixed opinions on it, as they always do, but I loved it. I look back on the time when I was blonde and I smile because many great things happened in that period: bathing in the sunshine, chilling with friends in front of the Wii, the start of a thrilling relationship...
A few months after this, however, I decided that I wanted to go on a journey back to my natural hair colour. I'd decided that four years of almost constant hair dying couldn't be very healthy and that giving my tired locks a break would do them more good than harm. So, I went out and got myself a fairly light shade of brown and plastered it on. Part of me regretted it instantly. I'd become so used to seeing my blonde locks tumbling over my shoulders that even seeing the lightest shade of brown looked drastically different. I came to love it eventually. However, that pesky blonde buried underneath wasn't finished yet. After a few weeks I may as well have not bothered dying it at all - bleach can be a bugger to cover up, as I'm sure all the peroxide ladies out there know very well!
Almost an inch of regrowth later, I decided to take the brown plunge again. Much to my horror, my 'Light Frosted Brown' was not light or frosted at all. On my journey back to nature, I'd basically ended up back where I started four years ago - chocolate brown. Argh! As much as people said it suited me, I was not happy. Then we end up in January. I'm bored of my hair, my regrowth is astonishing, and I want a change. I'd always had a secret desire to go red, and thought that this was the perfect time to do so... and I did! For two months now, I have been a fiery red, which I have loved having. However, I have quickly become bored of it. Maybe I'm just not alternative enough to have an unnatural hair colour...!
So, back to my original topic after that HUGE trail-off. I really wanted blonde hair again, but with such bright red hair, it was going to be a mission to get it the way I wanted it... until I discovered Colour B4!
Basically, Colour B4 is like a colour stripper, but it doesn't contain damaging bleaches or ammonia so it doesn't further damage hair. It works by targeting the artificial colour molecules in hair and shrinks them so they can be simply washed away - it's more or less a reversal of the dying process. Clever, huh?
I felt a little sceptical about it at first, but I'm so glad I did it. My hair came out a dark honey blonde! I'm just utterly amazed that this worked so well. If only I'd known about it when I first messed up about 6 months ago!

Sacrifice or moderation? I'll take a nice big helping of moderation please
So, it appears that Lent is upon us once again. Not once have I given up anything for Lent, because I didn't feel the need to - I'm not a religious person for a start. However, this year I've decided to participate... by putting myself onto a healthy eating diet! I feel that giving something up entirely isn't always the best, or the healthiest thing to do (unless we're talking about kebabs, which I never eat anyway).
I'm doing this for me, and me only. I've decided that being selfish isn't something that I do often enough, so I'm saying hello to the new, healthier and hopefully more toned me by the end of this 40 day period. If it takes longer than 40 days it's really no big deal. The achievement at the end is enough of a motivation for me! I just want to shake off this winter fat storage and bring that bikini body back for the summer.
I've also set another goal - to stop worrying and caring so much about things that don't matter. I seem to have this tendency to let people who don't play a part in my life any more get to me in ways that make me feel uncomfortable, sad and angry. I'm going to use these 40 days wisely, to build up my defences not only physically but emotionally too. I'm going to stop letting myself being drawn in by people who have hurt me in the past and focus on the people that are there for me day and night, no matter what happens. As the saying goes:
"If you're not here for me during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success."
Steering away from that emotional side, I've actually been on my diet for the past week, and so far I've lost 3lb. Nothing huge, but baby steps are the way forward - if I'd lost a stone in a week, I'd be getting seriously worried! ;)
Stay tuned for updates!

iFreak
I have a confession to make - I think I'm slowly becoming an Apple slave.
I bought my first iPhone this week and I've fallen head-over-heels in love with it. Those who know me personally will know that I've always been a bit of a techie, but THIS just takes it to whole new level (after the jailbreak, of course! ;) ). I had no idea just how customisable the iPhone really is and having owned a BlackBerry for the past two years, I'd become comfortable in the knowledge that the BlackBerry was far easier to customise and more flexible. How wrong was I?! Okay, so admittedly some of the jailbreak stuff is most likely far too advanced for the average person to even think about poking and prodding, so in that sense, the BlackBerry is sliiiightly more user-friendly. However, I seriously had no idea that the iPhone was capable of so much! What baffles me the most is that these functions can only be accessed through jailbreaking... If the iPhone is so advanced, why are Apple not taking advantage of its true power?
Seriously though, if I had a social life before I got this phone, it would most certainly be sobbing as my iPhone, bearing a troll face, flushed it down the toilet and watched every agonising second of its drowning. (Skim over that part where I just told you I have no social life. DOOOOO IT. *turns into Forever Alone*.) Now my evenings are spent squinting at a minuscule retina display whilst trying to perfect my Super Mario theme right down to the very last 1-up mushroom.

Some days I do wonder... *rolls eyes*
I'm pretty more than sure that this has been done before, but I'm seriously considering compiling a list of Facebook/Twitter stereotypes.
Things go on in my news feeds that drive me insane and I feel God awful for the people who have to put up with it too. Example:
Girl #1: "OMG, this is like, the third photo I've uploaded of myself this morning, I look so freakin' uglyyyyy. Probz gonna delete but hey ho. Now I'm gonna post some stupid and irrelevant song lyrics in this photo description because I REALLY REALLY want all my mateyz to like this photo. Like all my other ones."
The photo gets about 40 likes. FORTY. Of course she's not going to bloody delete it later. SHE JUST WANTS YOUR ATTENTION, LIKE EVERY OTHER DAY. You might as well rename her as "Troll" in your contact list because that's what she's doing. TROLLING YOU. EVERY. FLIPPING. DAY.
Now we move onto Girl #2. Oh boy, Girl #2 is an ENTIRELY different kettle of fish.
"listening to "Song Title" by My Favourite Singer. love it."
"@myfavouritesinger thank you so much for your wonderful music. it brings me so much JOY. yes, JOY. see, I'm overusing the word JOY because you mentioned it at your concert about 10 months ago. still using it. thank you for being you. xxxxxxxxx"
"grrr wanted to be home early tonight to book tickets for My Favourite Singer's concert. now I'll have to be in the SECOND row. boo hoo. #MyFavouriteSingersConcertOnThisDate"
"yay concert in two years' time! can't wait. love you My Favourite Singer. <3 #MyFavouriteSingersConcertOnThisDate #IUseReallyLongAndIrritatingHashTagsThatBarelyFitIntoTheWordLimitBecauseICanAndImShowingThatImReallySocialMediaSavvyByDoingSo"
Ok. We GET it. You love this person's work, fair enough. For our sanity though, PLEASE STOP VOMITING ABOUT IT IN EVERY SINGLE POST YOU MAKE!
Don't even get me started on RPG Addicts. Pfft, as if they are real RPGs anyway.
"Addict needs your help with her ewe! She's in labour and needs a helping hand to deliver the lambs!"
"Addict needs just ONE MORE recipe to become the best cook in the world! EVERRR!"
"Addict wants some nails and sticky tape to build a mansion! Yeah that's right! A MANSION FOR THEIR MADE UP, VIRTUAL WORLD IN WHAMSHIMBOMBOOBA!"

Ohhh oh, sometimes, I get a good feeling... yeah!
So I'm undecided on whether I prefer Flo Rida's 'Good Feeling' or Avicii's 'Levels'. It's no secret that I've always been a bit of a whore when it comes to dance music and I've never been a popping and locking fan of rap; HOWEVER, I have a sneaky suspicion that Flo Rida might just pip poor little Avicii to the post on this one. The reason being? I just don't feel like there's enough going on in 'Levels'... the hook is the only bit that really sticks out, and although I love the electro feel in the background, 'Good Feeling' almost feels more upbeat and reflects that really good feeling that this man singing obviously has.
The question I have is: where did this sample actually come from? Is it an old song remade like most 'new' songs today? Or is it something new that happens to have been used on both of the recently released tracks? Hmm... A little investigative work is in order I believe!
In other news, I've rediscovered my love for New Super Mario Bros. recently, thanks to that ever so amusing ninja in my life. I decided to set my Wii up again finally, and he fell in love with the game the minute he touched the Wiimote. Ever since, instead of "Lauren, shall we go to the cinema tonight?" it's been "Lauren, let's play Mario this evening!" Oh dear. I think I've created a monster... Soon we'll have completed the game and what will he do then? Move onto Zelda? (I hope :P)

Time to reflect...
2011. Wow.
I can quite honestly say that this year has been the biggest life changer of all for me. No, I don’t mean that in a typical “this year was rubbish, 2012 will be my year, new year new start blah blah BLAH” kinda way. I mean it in a life improvement way.
Right through from January to December, this year has taught me a lot of lessons. Some of them unfortunately came around in the hard way, but they’ve only aided me in my life’s path.
I strode into the year at full speed, with my head in the clouds and my problems buried in the sand. I partied with my now ex-work colleagues at a late Christmas party and quite honestly, it was the best I’ve ever been to. February came, along with my 20th birthday, and everything seemed plain sailing. Disaster struck soon enough though. For a couple of months, I found myself in an incredibly dark place - but trying to be my ever-positive self, I kept it hidden until it burst out of my chest in a way I could never have imagined it would. There’s a dear friend who was my lifeline during this period, and had it not been for him, the experience would have been much harder. I can’t thank you enough - if you ever need me, I’ll be right there with that three scoop ice cream in my hands for you! :)
Of course, true to my determined nature, I came striding through that dark patch and entered an entirely new dimension. Literally everything important in my life changed - my home, my job (twice!)... and my friends. This year taught me who my real friends are - the ones who are always there to pick me up when I fall flat on my face and keep their judgement to themselves. It did, however, introduce some wonderful people into my life and even more wonderful relationships grew with people that had been around for quite a while...
So, as I sit here on 22nd December 2011, writing this blog entry and excited about spending Christmas with the people that I love the most, I wish you all a fabulous festive season and I’ll be back in the New Year!
Whorse, JPGs and of course, my fantastic ninja apprentice - YOU have made my year. <3 xxx

Shameful.
It's been over two months since I last bored you with my life stories. Fear not younglings, I'm back... again! Muahahahaha! >:D
I have to confess, the past two months have been nothing but busy, busy, busy... Here's a quickfire list in a diabolical attempt to excuse myself:
1. Uni work. This has been DREADFUL. It's one thing looking forward to term one being over, but actually looking forward to my final project over what I'm doing now...? Yeah, it's not been kind to me. Bleh.
2. I visited Ashford.
3. I visited Poland for a few days and expanded my linguistic horizons, met some lovely people and saw some beautiful places. Great trip! :)
4. Uni work... again.
5. Overtime at work (oh, I'm working in the bakery now... yay!)
6. Christmas shopping.
7. Listing several useless things on eBay and actually making quite a nice profit.
8. Uni work *sigh*
9. Radio shows on Tuesdays (12-2 ON RADIO LAB)
10. Several trips to the hospital (not at my expense, don't worry ;) )
Truthfully though, parts of my uni work have been incredibly enjoyable indeed. I've produced a magazine with my friend James, and it really re-ignited my passion for graphic design! I've decided that I want to make a magazine for my special project now, to let my creative juices flow and hopefully land me in a media design job. Who knows, though - I've got so many ideas up my sleeve for when I graduate that I'd be happy with whichever way I went!
I've FINALLY got myself an icing kit for baking, too! :D I'm actually considering posting a few of my baking shenanigans on here for you all to have a look at - I'm not a very frequent baker, but when I do decide to get out the mixing bowl and electronic whisk, I have a whale of a time. I'm actually making some cakes for a charity bake sale at work on Friday so I may post a few pictures then... Keep your eyes peeled! ;)
Now, I should really stop procrastinating and get on with my Ethics essay. (4,000 words to go... ugh >.<)
Until next time, peeps!

Ambrosia, sweet Ambrosia...
Oh, Ambrosia rice pudding, I haven't had the pleasure of you coating my tongue in your sweet milky goodness for so long...
Yes, that sounded dirty. Yes, I know what Ambrosia is a euphemism for. I DON'T CARE. I LOVE rice pudding!
I really do wonder what Ambrosia were thinking when they gave themselves such a name. Sure, it may well be the name of the Greek gods' special drink but we all know the main use of the word in today's society! Ah, I digress.
Anyway, rice pudding. It's such a simple concept, cheap to buy and cheap to make, yet it fills my stomach with smiley faces and happy riffs! The milky coating and the delicate grains of rice are truly a match made in Heaven... Yum! I may or may not have just waded my way though an entire can... oops. Ah well, life is for living right?
Speaking of life being for living, I watched a touching video this morning that was really thought provoking. It was a video of Steve Jobs delivering a speech to university graduates back in 2005. Seeing him up on a stage, telling young people to live life as if they would die tomorrow was heart-wrenching. Not only this, he spoke of his relief of having overcome his pancreatic cancer on the first occasion that doctors discovered it. The world makes no sense sometimes - a man who was an utter genius and worked hard throughout his life to succeed in the technology market only really just saw his intelligence begin to come to fruition. His legacy will live on forever in the world of technology!

Bye bye Otis...
One of my furry friends departed for the hamster afterlife this week - on Thursday evening I found Otis fast asleep in her bed, never to wake up again. She might have been a nibbly little bitch at times, but I'll miss watching her circus acts more than anything else - I taught her the ways of the ninja very well!
Rest in peace little buddy! <3 x

Black out the sun...
"Turn all the fruits into bitter wine, it was only sweet when you were mine..."
I love these lyrics. Guess what? They're from Darren Hayes' new song, 'Black Out The Sun'! Wooooo! :D it got its first play on Radio 2 yesterday morning, hosted by the strangely Wogan-like Ken Bruce.
"That's a good song, isn't it?" he said as it came to its dramatic ending. Oh yes it is! I much prefer it to Talk Talk Talk, I have to say - although it's a catchy song, this one seems to have a lot more soul and emotion, which is what our Darren is renowned for...
In other Hayes-related news, I got my ticket for October's London concert through the post yesterday morning. Can. Not. WAAAAAAIT!
Now, onto the more serious stuff. I joined the gym last week! Now Mr Bannatyne is also making money out of me too, along with the other thousands of people tossing their cash into his saggy pockets... But, if he helps me to tone up a bit, I will know that paying him for the use his super-duper machines was worthwhile.
Also, I managed to sell some of my old stuff on eBay this week! In total I made about £114... Not bad for stuff I wanted to get rid of, if I do say so myself! ;)
...Meh. I feel too tired to blabber on for you guys today. Apologies. Maybe if I find the energy some time soon I'll update you all again... Maybe. ;)

Inappropriate?
I am astounded by the new things that I learn every day. Guess what my lesson for today was?
Holding the arm of another person in a photograph is inappropriate.
Eiiish. The funny thing is that this comment was made indirectly to me - get this - in a PHOTO TAG on Facebook. Really, I ask? I couldn't think of a more cowardly method of putting a point across, especially as the "tagger"'s identity is hidden... There's a "report" button on Facebook y'know. Use that if it really disgusts you to an unworldly length. I don't expect everyone to approve of the choices that I make in life, but please - is it really any of your business anyway? Especially when the "offence" is so trivial...
Another thing while I'm docked in Port Rant - if you live in Luton, under no circumstances sign a tenancy contract with a guy named Glen Wright. He's denied me half of my deposit money back because "my door lock was broken". Bullshit! It was in perfect working order the whole time I lived there. I lived there for a WHOLE YEAR. But, as always, it's my word against his, so my chances of getting my extra money back currently stand at ZILCH. Ah well. Who needs money right? ...
*tumbleweed*
Apart from the above, everything is pretty spoko in the world, I guess. I'm currently preparing some of my old junk for sale on eBay, which I hope will be another person's lost treasure! Keep an eye out, stuff under the username "lamoore5" will be shortly hitting your screens.
Do widzenia!

This evening, I am a soapbox jockey.
Uh huh. I'm back on it again.
Today, I am addressing an issue that always leaves me utterly perplexed.
Picture this: it's a normal evening on Facebook, nothing much out of the ordinary is happening, so boring, so soooo boring... and then BAM! An atrocious post like THIS appears on your feed:
"Ugh, I hate my job, I just want to be appreciated for what I do, so traumatic AHHHH whinge whinge moan moan my managers are all pricks BLAH"
What. The. F%£k.
Why oh WHY do people deem it even SLIGHTLY acceptable to bitch about their workplaces on social networking sites when, get this, they have all their MANAGERS as friends?! You must have to be seriously stupid! It's like rinsing mouthwash, spitting it out and then rinsing again - a complete recipe for disaster which leaves a bitter taste in everyone's mouths!

OH MY GOSH.
I had a huge surprise awaiting me when I got home from work last night.
Remember my little hamsters, Otis and Spud? They're really not Otis and Spud at all. They're both GIRLS.
Picture this: about three weeks ago, I had to separate them because they were literally fighting until the death. The usually docile, innocent and cuddly Spud was the more aggressive hamster in the fight, too. I was worried that he (well, SHE I guess) was going to be aggressive with humans... So, I decided to introduce Spud to Adam's hamster one day just to see how she reacted. Surprisingly, they loved each other straight away. Then the humping commenced!
I'll be honest; I thought it was hilarous. I teased Adam for days because he had a "gay" hamster, completely oblivious to the fact that my darling Spud was really a female... You know exactly where this is going now, right?
Yep, you guessed it. The surprise I came home to last night was... FIVE BABIES IN THE CAGE.
Meep. Although it was a shocker at first, I'm now incredibly excited at the thought of seeing minute, pink wriggly things growing into fluffy little baby hamsters! :D
So, who wants one when they're ready to leave Mummy? :P

Talk Talk Talk
I swear that every time I log into Blogger, I begin by apologising for neglecting my blog...
This time, however, I am NOT going to apologise for anything!
Phewee. It's been a tough few months, I have to say. I think that just about anything that you could possibly consider has gone wrong - housing, family illnesses, jobs... But (and believe me, this is a gigantic BUT) everything has come out on the other side perfectly! I left my job at Cineworld last week and I'm now working for Nando's. Also, I've officially finished my second year of uni now! I've got the whole summer ahead of me to work hard, earn some money and have an awesome time with dear friends. All's good on Planet Lauren at this moment in time! :D
I've just remembered that it's Summer Solstice today. Have I ever mentioned that I simply adore the long summer evenings? There's nothing quite like leaving your house at 9pm to see the roaring sunset engulfing everything in its path in a sepia glow. Beautiful! :)
One piece of slightly sad news, however - I've had to separate my little babies as they've started fighting. No, really, I mean proper "I'm going to kill you in cold blood" fighting. Poor Otis was bleeding a few days ago following an attack from Spud! Thankfully he's recovering now, but I just hate seeing them at loggerheads... :(
Never fear, this blog WILL be left on an exciting note... Darren Hayes has a new song out on Friday! Wahoooo! :D I can't wait to hear what the lyrical genius has devised this time! I'll be popping in with a verdict. Await it with baited breath! ;)

Mood swings.
The weather is being so moody here in Luton tonight.
I'm peeking out of my window as I speak, and all I see is trees and branches being pushed to breaking point by the strong gusts. With it, the mighty wind is bringing a scarily dark cloud, heavily pregnant with rain.
Just as I thought a storm was about to erupt into full force, I can now see a bright ray of sunlight beginning to reflect off of the vulnerable leaves. Yet still, the element of wind remains.
It could quite possibly soak the world at any moment; and like clockwork, it does. The rain is now splattering down with an incredible force, engulfing everything in its path.
The UK's unpredictable climate: although a nightmare to be caught in, it's so fascinating to watch from a comfortable position.

*cues Britney* OOPS, I, did it again!
Wow.
Maybe I should just pretend that I've been here for the last month and everything is normal? Yes, you like that idea? So do I!
I've had a strange month, full of ups and downs, but now I feel like I've finally come through it all like a trooper. My assignments are well underway and I can see the light bursting towards me in a frenzy! I can't quite believe that my second year at university has almost come to an end... Here's hoping that the summer will take me somewhere interesting!
Speaking of assignments, I HATE it when major corporations take what seems like an age to respond to an email. You see, I'm writing two feature articles for one of my assignments, and we have to get original quotations from the people that we choose to get into contact with. Maybe going straight to the big boys wasn't the best idea but hey - I'm a young and aspiring journalist, if I don't throw myself in at the deep end, who will? ;)
In other news, OH. MY. GOSH.
Darren Hayes is doing ANOTHER New Year's Eve show but this time, it's in Manchester... WHERE MY FRIEND GOES TO UNIVERSITY! The tickets go on sale this week and I am SO excited. It may deny me of any monetary funds for a few weeks, but my gosh will it be worth it! He's also been signed by Mercury Records in Australia, part of the world's largest record company, which is great news for him! I hope that he will finally get the recognition he deserves!
I think that's me for today. I promise I won't be away for as long next time!

Moondance? Yes please!
"Well, it's a marvellous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I'm trying to please to the calling
Of your heart strings that play soft and low
And all the night's magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Can I just have one more moondance with you, my love?
Can I just make some more romance with you, my love?"
Well? Can I? :P
Excuse the little bit of Van Morrison there, I simply love that song! It's so passionate, I can't help but think about being seduced whilst having it playing in the background...! ;)
Moving on... SWIFTLY! Amongst all the articles, magazines and documentaries that I'm having to create for my final assessments of the year, I'm actually feeling pretty liberated. I'm hosting a 70s dinner party at my house on Friday as part of our magazine project... Here's hoping that the food will be alright! :P I'll keep you updated throughout the process of our magazine creation. I'm so excited about getting started! :D
We've already come up with a name for it, which is... "Clocking Off"! Basically, our magazine is going to be a weekend supplement for an existing newspaper. We chose to base the magazine on periods throughout time, too, so the name is fitting indeed! ;)
That's all we've got so far, but this magazine will soon be rocketing to the sky along with all of our ambitious yet achievable ideas! I can't wait! :D
Until next time my darlings! <3 x

Bill Gates needs to sort it out. NOW.
Today, I'm back on my high horse of grammatical errors.
In the past two weeks, I have been faced with something horrible. Something... despicable. Something which is, by ALL means, totally unnacceptable. Perhaps worst of all is that I have now been faced with this scenario TWICE.
I'm talking about Microsoft Word: Mac.
I do not know if this has occured on any Windows versions of the program, but at my university, we have lots of "delightful" Apple Macintosh computers - all of which have classic Microsoft programs installed on them, including Word.
Sorry; I'm stalling. Let's cut to the chase.
MICROSOFT WORD: MAC CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN 'THEIR', 'THEY'RE' AND 'THERE'.
I know; I know. It's totally shocking, isn't it? A corporation as wealthy as Microsoft cannot be bothered to ensure that their programs understand such a basic form of grammar. I guess it's time for me to present the evidence to you. So, without further ado:

Perhaps even more sickening is that it tries to correct "their" again, but this time, with "THEY'RE" instead!

"...that THEY'RE whole fleet"? How does the phrase "that THEY ARE whole fleet" make any sense?! ARGH! Maybe it's Microsoft's way of paying back Mac users for their disloyalty. I can see Mr Gates giggling like a schoolgirl in his microchip throne now: "Haha, let's make a program riddled with grammatical errors so terrible that they have a mental breakdown and hurl their Macs from a 100ft building! Then, they'll HAVE to buy a Microsoft product to replace it because Apple products are so darn expensive! It's the perfect plan!"
...Phew. I guess that's my rant over for now.

Do you have a sneaky little secret?
I do.
I love... Scarves!
Sorry if you were expecting some ground breaking, Earth shattering story to leap into your face just then. Oh, you weren't...? Never mind.
Whether you like to admit it or not, everyone has a certain thing that they like to collect; be it shoes, bags, trading cards or stamps. For me, it's scarves. The scarf has been a staple fashion accessory in my wardrobe for the past two years or so now, and it's something you will rarely see me without. Sometimes, it's a good thing that I live in a relatively cold country!
I may not be an obsessive scarf pervert, but I DO have enough to match every outfit that I own. I counted fifteen in my bedroom earlier on, and I know there are more hiding away in my wardrobe! Grey, gold, green, pink, polkadot, leopard print... you name it!
Would you like to see a part of my collection?

;) x
