Bill Gates needs to sort it out. NOW.

Today, I'm back on my high horse of grammatical errors.

In the past two weeks, I have been faced with something horrible. Something... despicable. Something which is, by ALL means, totally unnacceptable. Perhaps worst of all is that I have now been faced with this scenario TWICE.

I'm talking about Microsoft Word: Mac.

I do not know if this has occured on any Windows versions of the program, but at my university, we have lots of "delightful" Apple Macintosh computers - all of which have classic Microsoft programs installed on them, including Word.

Sorry; I'm stalling. Let's cut to the chase.

MICROSOFT WORD: MAC CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN 'THEIR', 'THEY'RE' AND 'THERE'.

I know; I know. It's totally shocking, isn't it? A corporation as wealthy as Microsoft cannot be bothered to ensure that their programs understand such a basic form of grammar. I guess it's time for me to present the evidence to you. So, without further ado:

Perhaps even more sickening is that it tries to correct "their" again, but this time, with "THEY'RE" instead!

"...that THEY'RE whole fleet"? How does the phrase "that THEY ARE whole fleet" make any sense?! ARGH! Maybe it's Microsoft's way of paying back Mac users for their disloyalty. I can see Mr Gates giggling like a schoolgirl in his microchip throne now: "Haha, let's make a program riddled with grammatical errors so terrible that they have a mental breakdown and hurl their Macs from a 100ft building! Then, they'll HAVE to buy a Microsoft product to replace it because Apple products are so darn expensive! It's the perfect plan!"

...Phew. I guess that's my rant over for now.
