I had a huge surprise awaiting me when I got home from work last night.
Remember my little hamsters, Otis and Spud? They're really not Otis and Spud at all. They're both GIRLS.
Picture this: about three weeks ago, I had to separate them because they were literally fighting until the death. The usually docile, innocent and cuddly Spud was the more aggressive hamster in the fight, too. I was worried that he (well, SHE I guess) was going to be aggressive with humans... So, I decided to introduce Spud to Adam's hamster one day just to see how she reacted. Surprisingly, they loved each other straight away. Then the humping commenced!
I'll be honest; I thought it was hilarous. I teased Adam for days because he had a "gay" hamster, completely oblivious to the fact that my darling Spud was really a female... You know exactly where this is going now, right?
Yep, you guessed it. The surprise I came home to last night was... FIVE BABIES IN THE CAGE.
Meep. Although it was a shocker at first, I'm now incredibly excited at the thought of seeing minute, pink wriggly things growing into fluffy little baby hamsters! :D
So, who wants one when they're ready to leave Mummy? :P
